Allegaeon Release Video for “The Swarm” Ahead of Next Week’s Tour
Another new track from technical death metal outfit Allegaeon dropped earlier today, giving fans yet another taste of what’s to come with “The Swarm,” from the impending release of their next album The Ossuary Lens. In addition to the release of their new single, Allegaeon premiered the accompanying video over with our friends over at Metal Injection.
Speaking of the track, guitarist Greg Burgess said the song dates back to when the band was on tour and some unfortunate circumstances happened.
“This is a piece written by [guitarist] Michael Stancel. The frantic intro riff was actually written on tour in the UK on a boat in Bristol. I remember filming him playing it so we wouldn’t forget how to play it. The show was sold out and ruled, and then all of our gear got rained on because they had us load out so they could have a disco after the show. Shame!”
As for the track itself, it goes fuckin’ hard. I can only imagine how wild the pits are going to be when this one’s played live.
The Ossuary Lens will be released on April 4 via Metal Blade Records, but you can preorder your copy now. Allegaeon will also be co-headlining a tour with Warbringer starting in the next couple of days. The full list of dates can be found below and you can get your tickets today.
