Inhuman Condition (feat. Overkill, Deicide, Obituary) Announce New Album ‘Mind Trap’
Look out, everyone. A death metal project comprised of Overkill’s Jeramie Kling on drums and vocals, Deicide’s Taylor Nordberg on guitar, and Obituary’s Terry Butler on bass is putting out a new album next month.
Titled Mind Trap, the album will be the band’s third full-length effort and will feature new songs composed by the insanely talented trio, including the first single they’re going to release sometime soon. Yes, this is an album announcement without a chance to hear some of the music first, but hey — with names like those, how can you go wrong?
Speaking of the album and its creation, Kling said it was a way for the band to enter the ongoing commentary about the way the world’s going sideways.
“At the outset of composing this album, I was overwhelmed by an inescapable sense of confinement. This confinement was not imposed by the creative process or the expectations of previous releases, but rather by the very fabric of our shared existence on this planet. Our world is in a state of profound crisis, and we are all witnessing its aftermath. It is as if a colossal conflagration has engulfed all that we hold dear and trust. I had initially conceived of myself, Taylor and Terry being caught in these various traps on the cover as a blatant representation of being held captive by the world we inhabit. Also, witnessing our deaths cements the very real and foreboding feeling emitted by the term Death Metal.”
Mind Trap will be released soon via Listenable Insanity Records. The first single and album release date will be released on April 2, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.
