Incite Proves They Have No Love for Snitches with Their Latest Single “Just A Rat”
Unless you’re extremely lucky and everyone around you is 100% trustworthy, then you’ve probably already dealt with the subject of Incite‘s latest single, “Just A Rat”. We’ve all unfortunately found ourselves dealing with the kind of person that does shit behind your back or maybe tries to undermine you when you’re not looking. And every time it’s a fucking pain in the ass.
Hence why the Phoenix, Arizona-based thrash/groove metal outfit sound so pissed in the aforementioned single. “Just A Rat” hits hard and calls out the punk ass people in our lives. Described by the band as a “fresh burst of energy into the metal scene,” the track was described by frontman Richie Cavalera as Incite’s “most intense work yet.”
“‘Just a Rat’ is our first single and it’s unique, heavy and, to me, moving metal into a whole new, fresh direction. I wanted the lyrical content to be very relatable and god knows we’ve all dealt with a rat at some point in our lives.”
Though the band released the track on its own as their first offering under Reigning Phoenix Music, they’re hinting that this sort of sound is what they’ll be aiming for when they get to releasing their seventh — as of yet unannounced — full-length studio effort.
In the meantime, you can check out “Just A Rat” and its accompanying music video (directed by Jim Louvau), below.
