Scowl Release New Single “Tonight (I’m Afraid)”

0

With their eyes on the release of their forthcoming album Are We All Angels in roughly a month’s time, California hardcore act Scowl are back with a new and final single — “Tonight (I’m Afraid)”.

Described as showcasing the band “at their most vulnerable,” the track features some soaring choruses that bring vocalist Kat Moss’ vocal range to the fore, regardless of whether she’s belting out the notes or screaming her head off. This new facet of the band, she said, was something the band had to grow into.

“The majority of us were really not proficient musicians when this band started. It was very Germs-esque in that way, like baby’s first hardcore band, which is awesome. But now, we still might not know what we’re doing, but we have a better idea of what we want to do.”

Are We All Angels is the band’s sophomore full-length release and their follow up to 2021’s How Flowers Grow.

Are We All Angels will be released on April 4 via Dead Oceans, but you can preorder your copy today.
