Faster Pussycat Frontman’s Fiancée Dead After Falling Overboard on ‘The 80s Cruise’

A tragic incident on the high seas late last night has claimed the life of Kimberly Burch, fiancée of Faster Pussycat frontman Tiame Downe, after she reportedly fell overboard on The ’80s Cruise. Originally reported by Metal Sludge, the cruise launched from Miami, Florida on February 27 and will return to port on March 6.

According to Burch’s mother Carnell Burch, who spoke to TMZ for their report, the incident occurred on the very first day of the cruise, shortly after Burch allegedly got in an argument with Downe. The ship’s crews sounded the “man overboard” alarm and began search and rescue efforts about 20 miles out from Freeport, Bahamas. In addition to the cruise ship’s own search efforts, both the Coast Guard and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force attempted to locate Burch. Sadly, those efforts were in vain.

A representative from the Royal Caribbean Group released the following statement about the incident:

“Our crew immediately launched a search and rescue effort, is working with local authorities, and we are providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time. To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share.”

TMZ also reports that at this time, it’s unknown whether Burch jumped, accidentally fell, or was forced overboard. According to Burch’s mother, Kimberly had been drinking which was “out of character”, but that nothing seemed suspicious at that time. She also said that prior to boarding the ship, Kimberly was excited to go on the cruise and that she did not struggle with any mental or emotional issues leading up to her death.

Sadly, this news brings to mind the tragic incident that happened aboard the first iteration of Lamb of God’s Headbangers Boat, in which a male guest fell overboard.
