The Devil Wears Prada Expect a New Album Out This Year, Warn “Expect to Feel as Sad as Ever”
The best metal band to ever to be named after an Anne Hathaway movie, The Devil Wears Prada (although a metal band called Princess Diaries would be badass), apparently hope to have a follow up to their 2022 album Color Decay by the end of the year, and apparently it’s going to be as dark as anything else they’ve ever done.
In a recent interview with Amped (that was transcribed by Blabbermouth), The Devil Wears Prada vocalist Mike Hranica explained that they expect the next record to be as dark as what you’ve come to expect from the band:
“ I think Jeremy’s [DePoyster, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA guitarist/vocalist] already kind of said this before, but we couldn’t make happy songs if our lives depended on it. So when the next record inevitably comes along, and we have a lot of songs we’re sitting on, people can expect to feel as sad as ever, because even when we kind of put it to the test to brighten things up, it’s, like, that’s just not THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA at all. So I don’t wanna say more of the same, because that’s the last thing that any artist wants to do, but it certainly hasn’t gotten brighter, I’ll say that.”
As for when to expect the new record, Hranica said:
“I think we’ll have a new record this year. We’ll see. And then hopefully this time next year back [on the road] in E.U., U.K. and, yeah, doing it all over again. [It will be] year 21 [for THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA] by then, if we’re not dead. So, we’ll see.”
So you have a lot to look forward to from Les Misérables—I mean The Devil Wears Prada.
