Oceano Accused of Stealing Artwork for Farewell Tour Advertising Materials
Outgoing deathcore act Oceano find themselves breaking up after becoming mired in controversy over a tour they signed up for that was full of people accused of sexual misconduct. Now it seems that, with their final tour imminent, the band have found themselves in another controversy that they might have brought on themselves. And if the accusations are true, it all could have been easily avoided, as it seems an artist is accusing the band of using his artwork without credit or permission.
Two days ago, Oceano announced their farewell tour with a post on Instagram that used an image of a coffin reading “The Death of Oceano 2006-2025.” It’s a pretty standard idea for a tour that’s supposed to signify a band’s final tour.
As it turns out, an artist named Chris Gallien has since accused the band of initially rejecting his design for this admat and then turning around to use it anyway. Gallien wrote on Facebook:
“Ya I’m not keeping my mouth shut. Don’t meet your heroes, they’ll take advantage of you. That Oceano tour flier that dropped yesterday was my work and I got zero credit for it. Straight up ‘hey, you can copy my homework, just change it up a little.’
“I was told my flier didn’t make the cut, and then see that my work was completely ripped off and plagiarized.
“With that being said, I’m not working with Adam or Oceano on anything moving forward. That’s the last time I do anything without upfront deposits and contracts. Even the big boys will play you.”

The picture on the left is the one the artist claims to have submitted to the band which they supposedly declined, while the one on the right is what the band released.
Oceano doesn’t seem to have made any comment on the controversy yet, but people are already starting to comment on their Instagram post accusing them of plagiarism. We’ll see what comes of it next.
In the meantime, if this doesn’t turn you off to Oceano, here’s those farewell tour dates again:
