Sleep Token Launches Bizarre New Puzzle Site That May Be Teasing New Music
Sleep Token appear to be taking their weirdness to a whole new level, but they’ve made something fun in the process. The band launched a new teaser site called showmehowtodanceforever.com that creates an intricate puzzle to solve that’s leading to, one can assume, an announcement of a new album. It’s a hell of a rabbit hole to jump down, but boy is it fascinating on the way down.
When you first get to the site, you see a bunch of letters that you have to assemble in the right order. I had to look up other people’s solves of the puzzle on Reddit, but if you put the letters together in the order DOUOSVAVVM, it asks for you email address and the adventure continues there. What does DOUOSVAVVM mean, exactly? Hidden in the source code are geographic coordinates 52°48’05.0″N 2°00’45.0″W, which lead you to the 18th century Shepherd’s Monument on the grounds of Shugborough Hall in Staffordshire, England. There’s a famous inscription on the monument that reads DOUOSVAVVM which nobody has ever been able to decipher the meaning of.
Lambgoat reveals that entering your email leads you to receiving an email that divides you into one of two houses, the Arcadia house or the Veridian house, but when I click on either house in my email it just takes me to the Sleep Token website. So maybe this is all just an elaborate scheme to get you to sign up for their email list so you can get news about the new album. But what does the monument and the inscription have to do with the new album? It seems like we may have to wait to figure out the whole puzzle.
