Parkway Drive Announce Concert at Sydney Opera House with Full Symphonic Orchestra

0

I was in high school when Metallica put out their S&M live album where they performed with the San Francisco Symphony and, say what you will about that live album highlighting the controversial Load and Reload eras of the band too much, I’ll never forget what it felt like to hear Metallica songs with a full symphony orchestra behind them to bring out the melodies in the band’s powerful anthems. Metallica isn’t the only metal band to perform with a symphony over the past few decades, but it’s almost always something really beautiful to hear a metal act perform with a symphony. So get ready, because Australian metalcore favorites Parkway Drive are getting their own S&M-style treatment. And by that I mean they’re recording with a symphony, not that they’re going to have the shit beat out of them by a dominatrix.

Parkway Drive announced their show yesterday that will be held on June 9 at the famous Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia with a full symphonic orchestra. What’s more, the band says that they’ll be filming and recording the concert for their upcoming feature film and live album which will be called Home. There’s no word on exactly which symphony is going to be performing with the band.

Ticket sales don’t start for a few weeks, with pre-sale starting on March 5 at 9 a.m. AEDT and general on sale starting on March 7 at 9 a.m. AEDT. The admat says that the event will be black tie, so make sure to break out the tuxedos and tails for this, even if you’re wearing a band shirt under it.
