Ozzy Osbourne Will Only Perform “Little Bits and Pieces” at Black Sabbath Reunion Show

0

We’ve known Ozzy Osbourne has been struggling with his health over the last few years. He hasn’t played a full show since 2018, but is going to be hitting the stage with the reunited full original lineup of Black Sabbath for their “Back to the Beginning” charity concert later this year. While we knew we wouldn’t get Ozzy at his full capacity, it seems we’ll get less of him on stage as we orignally thought.

The legend spoke about it on his SiriusXM radio show Ozzy Speaks: “I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath but I am doing little bits and pieces with them. I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable.”

While he said he’s going to do whatever he can to make sure he can do his best during the performance, the 76-year-old did share back in 2020 that he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. His wife Sharon recently spoke about Ozzy having some issues with walking due to the disease, but that his voice was still rocking. “I am trying to get back on my feet,” the icon added. “When you get up in the morning, you just jump out of bed. I have to balance myself, but I’m not dead. I’m still actively doing things.”

He added:

“I have made it to 2025. I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive. I may be moaning that I can’t walk but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”

The fact that the classic Sabbath lineup hasn’t played together in two decades feels like a crime they should be arrested for. They’ll be joined by several Sabbath-inflenced bands, including Slayer, Metallica, Mastodon, Anthrax, Lamb of God, and Pantera. Proceeds from the “Back To The Beginning,” which is taking place on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, United Kingdom will go to Cure Parkinson’s, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice, a Children’s Hospice supported by the Aston Villa Football Club.
