Saxon Planning New Album for 2026

0

To everyone who’s been chomping at the bit for a new Saxon album even though they just put out Hell, Fire and Damnation about a year ago, I have two pieces of good news for you. The first piece of good news is that anxiety medication exists, so you should take some and calm the fuck down because it is way too soon to be this desperate for new Saxon already. And the second piece of good news is that the band plans to put out a new album in 2026 anyway.

In a recent interview with FaceCulture (that was transcribed by Blabbermouth), Saxon frontman Biff Byford was asked about the possibility of new music, and he announced their plans for the near future, saying:

“We’re writing. I’ve started writing the new album, writing lyrics and titles. The boys have sent me loads of ideas already. So I’m just making a short list of what music we should use, what style we should play in, what songs are slow, fast, medium, good guitar riffs. So, yeah, we’re pretty far on. We’ll probably start rehearsing the new album maybe June, maybe recording in January, February. So we’ll probably have a new album out in late 2026.”

So there you go, you don’t have that long to wait, all three of you who were worried. Meanwhile, if you’re really excited about Saxon, they’re currently on their “Hell, Fire, and Steel” tour with Girlschool and Grand Slam, so here’s their remaining dates on the tour:
