Ithaca May Have Played Their “Last Show,” But It Turns Out They’ve Got One More in Them

0

We’ve known that British metalcore act Ithaca was planning to put a bow on their run as a band since this past October. With their apparent final show dubbed “The Cremation Party” having already taken place this past weekend at the O2 Academy Islington in London, you’d think they were donezo. But like a super predictable pro-wrestling angle, they’ve kicked out at the last possible second to give it one more go.

Or rather, they’re just going to play one more show and then call it quits. And that’s because they have a slot at the upcoming ArcTanGent Festival that’s taking place between August 13 and 16. With that big of an opportunity to really end the band with a bang, it looks like Ithaca will hit the stage one last time — for realsies this time — at that festival.

“SURPRISE. Our last ever performance will take place at our spiritual home ArcTanGent Festival. This will be a completely different show to The Cremation Party with a different setlist and very special guests. We cannot wait to send this band off with some of the most dedicated music fans in the world.”

While it’s great they’ll be playing a completely different set from their “final” show this past weekend, I’d be a little miffed if I were a fan that thought they were there for the band’s final show and this happened. That’s supposed to be a memorable event that fans can share with the band. Now that they’re playing one more show, it’s either attend that show or know the one you saw wasn’t really the finale. I know it’s likely not that big of a deal, but this announcement has to be a little bittersweet to some of the folks in attendance this past weekend.

Either way, if you want to catch Ithaca at their final show as a band (again), you can do so by getting your tickets to this year’s ArcTanGent Festival.
