The Callous Daoboys Unveil New Album ‘I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven’ with Two Singles
Man, add this to the list of “shit you need to be insanely hyped about”, because Atlanta-based mathcore madcap motherfuckers The Callous Daoboys are back and they’re coming for your throat. Their follow-up to 2022’s Celebrity Therapist and 2023’s God Smiles Upon The Callous Daoboys EP is coming out on May 16 via MNRK Heavy and it’s titled I Don’t Want To See You In Heaven.
Not only that, but the band dropped not one, but two singles to get shit rolling: “Two-Headed Trout” and “The Demon of Unreality Limping Like a Dog.” Both tracks are featured in a 10 minute cinematic music video that we’ve got available for you down below.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the new album, vocalist Carson Pace said it was a pretty personal endeavor.
“The album is an artifact that’s been preserved, and hundreds of years in the future, you’re listening to this album in the museum. It’s a known failure, but the narrative is ‘if it survives forever, is it truly a failure?’
“Everything is very singular and personal. I’m not making an album commenting on anything societal or political this time, this is an album just for me. It’s every emotion I’ve felt and sobering thought since 2021. I can only make this album now, not in three years when I’m thirty, not ten years ago when I was seventeen. This is the snapshot of 24-27. A scrapbook of trial and error, or better yet, a Museum of Failure.”
I Don’t Want To See You In Heaven will be available on May 16 via MNRK Heavy, but you can (and should) preorder this one right now.
