The Sword’s Renowned Album ‘Warp Riders’ to Get 15th Anniversary Vinyl This Year

It’s hard to imagine this being true, but 2025 marks the 15th anniversary of The Sword‘s insanely kick ass album Warp Riders. With bangers like “Tres Brujas”, “Night City”, and “Lawless Lands”, the album continues to stand out as a must listen to any sludge/stoner/doom metal fan.

With this year’s Record Store Day taking place on April 12, it only made sense that The Sword would get in on the action by re-releasing a remixed and remastered version of Warp Rider on “Sea of Pyres” colored vinyl. According to the band, this version will be based on the original sessions and will come in a “stunning embossed mirror board jacket.”

If you want to get your hands on this release, you’re going to need to be vigilant because it will be limited to 4,000 copies worldwide.

News of this re-release comes days after the band announced they were reuniting just a couple years after breaking up back in 2022. They’ve since played a Levitation 2024 this past November, as well as a couple shows here and there last month.

Right now, the band has two more shows lined up for April 10 at the Granada Theater in Dallas, Texas and April 11 at Paper Tiger in San Antonio, Texas. So who knows — maybe 2025 is the year of The Sword.
