Sharon Osbourne Clarifies That Black Sabbath Show Will Be Ozzy’s Final Solo Performance, Too

While today’s big news of a final Black Sabbath show in Birmingham, U.K. this coming July has rightfully dominated the metal world, one detail for many may have been easily lost in the mix — it’s also going to be Ozzy‘s last solo show, too.

Naturally, Ozzy’s wife and manager Sharon Osbourne clarified that bit of news as well while speaking with BBC News about the announcement. If you look on the admat below, you’ll see that Ozzy’s listed among the major performers.

“Ozzy didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to his friends, to his fans, and he feels there’s no been no full stop.

“This is his full stop.”

Ozzy, who was just recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist, has had to cancel festival performances, film convention appearances, and entire tours due to his health in recent years. At one point, he even said his “touring days are over”, which was particularly depressing to hear.

Yet despite the setbacks, Ozzy’s constantly said he wanted to play at least one more show with the original Black Sabbath lineup as a send off, with initial reports suggesting he was originally planning two shows in Birmingham. Sharon said Ozzy’s made some major strides with his health in recent months, making this massive reunion gig possible.

“He’s doing great. He’s doing really great. He’s so excited about this, about being with the guys again and all his friends. It’s exciting for everyone.”

As we previously reported, Black Sabbath’s final show will take place on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, U.K. Along with the original Black Sabbath lineup playing one more show together, the full day event will include performances by Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Anthrax, Alice In Chains, Mastodon… the list goes on.

Tickets for the show will go on sale next Friday, February 14, so be sure to secure yours when they go on sale. This will likely be a heavy metal event that will go down for the ages.
