My Ticket Home Announce First Show Since 2018
It was always hard to nail down what kind of music Ohio’s My Ticket Home played. Metalcore, hardcore, nu-metalcore, post-hardcore, and they liked to refer to themselves as “puke rock,” which sounds like a better description for crunkcore or something like that. Regardless of what you want to call them, it seems like the puke is coming back up again as My Ticket Home just announced their first show since they went on hiatus back in 2018.
The band announced their first show since 2018 in what became their first Instagram post since 2018. Surprisingly enough, even though they’re making their triumphant return from hiatus, the band isn’t even the headliner of their first show back. They’ll be opening up for Church Tongue later this month at a show in their own hometown of Columbus alongside fellow opening acts Sour, Walking Wounded, and Violent Nature. I would argue that My Ticket Home is a bigger name act than Church Tongue, having put out more albums, all of them on fairly big name labels (big for metal bands, anyway) like Spinefarm and Rise Records. But hey, at least My Ticket Home is playing a show again.
The caption on their Instagram post was surprisingly minimalist, just stating:
“We back. Hyped to be playing with @churchxtongue @walkingwoundedoh @soursoundtrack @violentnaturehc
“See you soon Columbus”
There’s very little information on this reunion so far, with no mention of any more dates or anything, let alone any new music. But presumably this announcement is the beginning of something bigger that’s soon to come. So keep your eyes peeled to see what’s coming next from My Ticket Home.
