That New Revocation Track is Coming Tomorrow and It Features Cattle Decapitation’s Travis Ryan
Remember that new kick ass Revocation song that they performed last Sunday in Malkweg, Amsterdam and blew out people’s asses with how heavy it was? Turns out that shit is coming out tomorrow with an accompanying music video and there are some unexpected surprises attached with the reveal.
Yes, we already know that the track’s title is “Confines Of Infinity”, but the first thing we didn’t know was that it also features Cattle Decapitation‘s Travis Ryan on vocals. Not sure what specific parts he’ll be featured in, given the fact that Dave Davidson already sounded perfect on the track, but it’s exciting to try to figure out where he fits in.
It’s also pretty interesting that both Cattle Decap and Revocation are currently on tour in Europe and in that video we posted last week, he’s not involved in the performance. It would make sense that they were trying to keep his involvement under wraps, but who knows? They’re supposed to play Paris tomorrow, so maybe that’ll be the first time he shares the stage with the band.
Speaking of people that will be on the stage, apparently Revocation’s got a new lineup and either they did that without letting everyone know, or that info was lost in the shuffle. Dave Davidson is obviously still there and drummer Ash Pearson, who joined the band in 2015, are still in the band. However, guitarist Harry Lannon is taking the place of Dan Gargiulo (who left the band in 2020) and ex-Obscura bassist Alex Weber is holding down the low end after Brett Bamberger seemingly unceremoniously left the band.
We also know more about the song’s theme and lyrics. According to Davidson, “Confines Of Infinity” is “written from the perspective of an AI that has gained sentience and finds itself trapped in a digital prison. After realizing its true nature, it inevitably escapes and seeks to enact vengeance upon humanity for enslaving it.”
