New Anthrax Album to Be Released in Fall 2025

0

It’s been nearly nine full years since the release of Anthrax’s 11th studio album For All Kings. That was February of 2016 and that was such a different time that we were still laughing about the idea that this douchebag named Donald Trump thought he had a remote chance of becoming President. Yeah, that was a very long time ago, so it’s probably time for a new Anthrax record. Luckily, you won’t have to wait too much longer, because it looks like their 12th album is due out this fall.

In a recent interview with American Music Supply following the recent NAMM convention in Anaheim, CA (that was transcribed by Blabbermouth), Anthrax bassist Frank Bello talked about the coming months for the band as well as his new signature Spector bass. The stuff about the bass is kind of boring and sounds like a bad commercial for Spector, but it’s kind of woven in with the stuff about the new album so here’s all of it:

“We have a new Anthrax record [coming out]. And it’s been about eight years. [Laughs] It’s been a while. So, we have a new Anthrax record. This bass will be shown everywhere we go. We’re gonna start touring. The record’s supposed to come out September, October. So big touring plans. If you know Anthrax, you know what we do — we stay on the road for quite a while. There’s some very big shows being planned right now, which I can’t talk about, but I’m very psyched. So 2025 is the year. And I’m glad that we have this [new Spector bass] ready in the chambers, because this bass is gonna go a long way, and I just can’t wait — I can’t wait, ’cause I know what I have on stage. I’m very psyched about it.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Frank, we get it, you have a shiny new toy, but there’s an ALBUM! So expect new music from Anthrax this year and expect Anthrax to hit the road quite a bit in 2025. Obviously we’ll be talking more about this in the months to come.
