Louder Than Life Adds Mudvayne, 12 Stones, Counterparts, Chimaira, and More to the Lineup
As festivals are wont to do, this year’s Louder Than Life is getting even bigger with Mudvayne, a newly reunited 12 Stones, Chimaira, and more getting thrown into the mix. News of the lineup additions were posted to the festival’s Instagram page, where organizers revealed that the three aforementioned bands were on the bill, as well as Counterparts and thrown.
Louder Than Life is set to take place from September 18 to 21 at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo Center. So far, today’s announcement adds those band to the following existing list of acts that have already been announced:
- Slayer
- Acid Bath
- Lorna Shore
- Static-X
- letlive.
In particular, Slayer’s appearance is a special one, as it’s one of the only live performances the iconic thrash metal band will make this year. In fact, they’re only there this year because Hurricane Helene fucked up their chances to play last year’s festival.
With about 10 bands currently announced for the festival, organizers are running a fan poll to see whether they have any interest in seeing Anthrax, Danzid, Dethklok, Down, and/or Megadeth to the roster. I am willing to bet that most (if not all) of those acts will make the cut and be added to the final lineup, but this is a potentially engaging way to let fans feel like they’re involved in the planning process.
Either way, tickets for the festival are available today, so if you want to head out to Kentucky for four days of music and frivolity, now’s your time to snatch up your pass.
