Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix Says New Album Will Be Out by 2026

Papa Roach will forever be cemented in our and pop culture’s hearts (or, papa culture…? Nah, that doesn’t really work as a joke so let’s just move on). They’ve been steadily churning out music since the 90s, with their last album being 2022’s Ego Trip, and they aren’t done yet. Why would they be? We need them (and everything else good and palatable) as much as possible now. The band’s frontman Jacoby Shaddix was recently talking about new music and according to him, the band plans on hopefully releasing a new album by early 2026.

Shaddix talked to Audacy Check In about “Even If It Kills Me,” Papa Roach’s latest single, which was released on January 22. After talking up what makes the new track special—upon hearing the demo, he told bassist Tobin Esperance “Dude, I don’t even have to think twice on this one. It’s go time on this track.”—he went in on what the next album might be like (transcribed by Blabbermouth.net):

“So we’ve been in the studio throughout 2024 working on a bunch of music, and we have songs in a lot of different states. There’s songs that are completely finished. We have other songs that are like verses and choruses, and we’ve gotta write maybe a bridge or get back there and kind of retweak ’em and work ’em. And so they’re in all these different states. There’s another couple of songs that are just acoustic guitar and vocal, and it’s, like, ‘All right, this one’s gonna be a banger. We’ve just gotta go in there and, like, bandify the song.’ And so we have a ton of material demoed out. And so throughout this year, we’re just gonna keep jumping back into the studio and finishing up those pieces. Management’s going, ‘Let’s try to hit it later this year.’ And I’m, like, ‘I wanna release music throughout the whole year.’ And it’s going to lead up to an album eventually. Whether it’s the end of 2025 or early 2026, there will be a new PAPA ROACH album.

“The music we’re making right now is very inspired and it’s got us all pumped up. When you go back in the studio, you just don’t know what’s gonna come. And after we wrote ‘Even If It Kills Me’, I’m just, like, ‘Oh. It’s on. Let’s go.’”

Can’t wait Jacoby, can’t wait!
