Fred Durst, Lemmy, and More Featured in Latest Trailer for Society 1 Documentary ‘Everyone Dies’

There’s this idea among crusty old heads that the concept of sex, drugs, and rock and roll is dead. Bands today apparently take things too safe and don’t get down like the old ones did on the Sunset Strip or whatever. What they don’t know is there have been bands like Society 1 and rock musicians like Matt “The Lord” Zane that took all the craziest shit about rock and metal shows and injected it with the gnarliest speed ball possible. And now there’s a documentary coming out this Valentine’s Day that showcases it all.

Everyone Dies (Rock Stars Don’t Count) focuses on the life and career of Zane, who became notorious in the early 2000s for doing things like having Zane suspended above the stage from meat hooks, orgies, lesbian gangbangs, porno shoots, public sex acts on stage… you name it, it was all done in pursuit of pushing the envelope.

And while you’d think some of the antics displayed in the trailer alone would mean we’d be talking about Zane in the past tense, we can’t because that crazy fucker’s still alive.

“No one believes me when I tell them about everything that went down. It always comes across as some delusional fever dream. So the movie doesn’t leave much to the imagination. It shows actual footage of all of the insanity. There is no room for disbelief by the end of the film. You can love it or hate it but it’s impossible to deny it happened.”

In addition to first-hand testimony from Zane and the rest of the band, other people who saw the shows when they happened are featured in the film, as well the musicians they toured with or interacted with over the years. We’re talking Korn’s Jonathan Davis, Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister… It’s a veritable who’s who of metal icons that make an appearance in the doc.

You can check out the full trailer over at Thunderflix, where you can also stream the whole documentary when it goes live on Valentine’s Day. Because nothing says “I love you” quite like the claim that it’s “harder to watch than GG Allin.”
