Corrosion of Conformity’s Officially Done with Pre-Production for Their New Album

0

Every time we write about Corrosion of Conformity, you guys get super hyped. And I get it, man — that band’s been putting out great music for decades, so when we learned they were working on their follow up to 2018’s No Cross No Crown, you bet your ass I was right there with you when it came to the hype.

Well yesterday, we got an update from bassist Bobby Landgraf from the studio in the form of an Instagram post. And in that post, he not only gave a lay of the land in terms of where everyone’s gear is in the studio, but he also revealed that the band was done with pre-production. And while that means there’s still a lot of work to be done, it’s still a major milestone.

“We are here in Gold Rica in Central America. C.O.C., pre-production going on. There’s [guitarist/vocalist] Pepper Keenan. Just caught some tasty waves out there. Warren Riker here on the mix. Here’s your host, Bobby, right here. What’s going on, everybody? [Drummer] Stanton Moore back in the corner… Got [guitarist] Woodroe’s [Woody Weatherman] rig right here. That bass rig right here. Stanton’s fat-ass Gretsch right here. And Pepper Keenan’s corner right here. Tones are kickin’, the record’s slamming. We’re really proud of what we did. It’s been a hell of a week, y’all. Boom.”

This will be the band’s first new record since the passing of the late drummer Reed Mullin and the exit of founding bassist Mike Dean. With Stanton Moore once again handling COC’s drumming needs for the first time since the release of In The Arms of God, the rest of the band includes Landgraf, guitarist Woody Weatherman, and guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan.
