Two Ozzy Classics Return to Billboard Chart
The Ozzman may be in his golden years and the possibility of him ever touring again may be a thing of the past, but that doesn’t mean the music we already have will ever go away. Case and point is the fact that decades after their release, two major Ozzy Osbourne tunes have made their way back onto the Billboard charts. And it’s likely all thanks to his recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist.
This week, both “Mama, I’m Coming Home” off the 1991 classic No More Tears and “Crazy Train” off of 1980’s Blizzard of Ozz broke into the top five of Billboard’s Hard Rock Digital Song Sales list, with the former landing at number 3 and the latter landing at number 5.
According to Forbes, “Mama, I’m Coming Home” holds a special distinction, as it’s Ozzy’s “highest-rising smash on the list that hasn’t eventually climbed all the way to No. 1,” which is something five of his six top 10 hits have done. For example, “Crazy Train” has already reached the top spot — twice. The iconic track has also spent 217 weeks on the list, whereas “Mama, I’m Coming Home” has managed to make the list four times throughout the years.
Ozzy’s also one of only two artists with multiple songs on the list, though Creed currently has three of the 10 songs on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales list. Makes you want to wonder what year it is, but here we are — Ozzy and Creed are tops of the Hard Rock Digital Songs list in the year of our lord 2025.
