Suicide Silence Has a New Record in the Works
Two years after the release of their latest album Remember… You Must Die, it looks like Suicide Silence is already putting in the work for their next full-length release. Information about the impending new tunes came about during a recent interview featuring guitarist Chris Garza.
According to Garza, who was being interviewed by YouTuber and “we do fun metal things here” dude Nik Nocturnal (as transcribed by Metal Injection), Garza revealed that he and his bandmates in Suicide Silence were busy writing and recording new material.
“I am in Southern California so it’s like, I could… I’m lucky. I’m just going to all these shows. I’m seeing deathcore bands, new metalcore bands. I didn’t know who Alpha Wolf was until they they played a small venue down the street, I was like ‘okay, I’ll check it out.’ When you’re consistently putting new shit into your mind – could be music, could be books, learning – something happens to to your fucking brain where it forces you to be open-minded, and that causes a new form of being creative.
“So now we started writing our new record two weeks ago, and I don’t know man. I’m playing different. It’s weird, I don’t know. I’m just like ‘oh, I wouldn’t normally do that.’ So it’s like, the self-titled backlash, being broke for a long time, plus also being inspired, plus the new bands really pushing me without them knowing. I don’t know. I can’t put my finger it. Something is happening.”
Sounds like having a wealth of inspirational material to draw from is helping the band sort of find their focus for the next release. It should also be noted that the new record will be the band’s first with their new drummer Ernie Iniguez, who joined the band back in 2022.
