3 Inches of Blood’s Cam Pipes Says There’s a “Possibility” of Writing New Music This Year
It’s still kinda crazy to think that Canadian metal outfit 3 Inches of Blood is not only back, but that they’ve already played some memorable shows since returning — the Metal Injection Festival being one of those. Ever since coming back in 2023, there’s been a constant wonder from fans and followers alike about whether the dudes are back just to jam the old stuff or if there’s a possible future where we could get new music.
In a recent interview with New Noise Magazine, vocalist Cam Pipes revealed that he and the guys are considering adding to their repertoire this year, but also urges fans not to get too excited at the prospect.
“I think early [in 2025] we’ll start working on that, set aside some time to get everybody together when we don’t need to be rehearsing for a show, and just sit down and say, ‘OK, let’s see what we got, because there’s obviously a desire for people to want to hear new music from us.
“And so, yes, there is a possibility of us writing new music, and there are ideas, and we do want to see what we got, and see what we can come up with. Hopefully we’ll have something done next year. But it’s really too early to say how much will get done before summertime and what we can release.”
Well, that’s kind of exciting. Sure, there are some caveats in there and yeah, it’s not set in stone, but the fact that there’s even a possibility of this happening in 2025 is pretty damn cool.
When pressed for a potential timetable for a new song’s release, Pipes said it would be cool if they could have something “before we go over to Europe and play some of the festivals over there.”
As it stands, 3 Inches of Blood have a couple shows lined up later this month to celebrate the 20th anniversary if Advance and Vanquish out in California. Both shows will feature support from Toxic Holocaust, Haunt, and Intranced. The dates for those shows are as follows:
1/24 Hollywood, CA The Fonda Theatre
1/25 San Francisco, CA The Regency Ballroom
