Hardcore Band Anguish to Release First New Album in 30 Years

0

It seems like 2025 is gonna be a “thriller” year, considering all of the bands resurrecting their outfits to release new music (this is a joke on the classic song and music video “Thriller,” just in case you needed me to ruin the joke by explaining it). Next on that list is Anguish, the Cleveland, Ohio-based hardcore band from the 90s who broke up back in 1996. We’ll be getting something new from them after 30 years, and I think it might be worth the wait.

Anguish was basically in hibernation for about 25 years, only popping up in 2020 to seemingly try to figure out social media. Then, they announced the release of a remastered version of 39 Steps, one of their only efforts to come out before they disbanded. Now, they’ve taken to social media to share the exciting news of newness, or whatever.

They posted the following update on New Year’s Day:

“A NEW ALBUM: With 2024 behind us, it was a productive year. Colin flew to Los Angeles this summer and we recorded a new Anguish record. It’s been in the works for a long time. Distance and schedules make the process take longer than we’d like, but we think it will be worth the wait.”

Anguish then went on to share a little snippet of what’s to come:

“SOUND ON! Getting closer to the new album finish line, but we still have a way to go. Here’s a sample!”
