Fan Stabbed at a Texas Concert Expected to Recover, Attacker Faces Assault Charge
A 21-year-old San Antonio, Texas man is expected to make a full recovery after being stabbed multiple times during a concert this past Friday, while his alleged assailant is currently out on bond and facing an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.
According to a report by local ABC news affiliate KSAT, police arrested 36-year-old John Guerrero at the scene after eye-witnesses identified him as the man who stabbed the unnamed victim multiple times during the Life Cycles concert at the Paper Tiger. The show also featured supporting acts Fear Of Loss, Voracious Contempt, Crossways 3000, and Public Threat.
Police say they responded to the incident shortly after 10 p.m. after receiving initial reports from people at the venue. Upon their arrival, police found the victim sitting outside the venue’s entrance suffering from multiple stab wounds. It’s unclear how many times he was stabbed in the attack, but he was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he was listed in stable condition.
Shortly thereafter, other concertgoers identified Guerrero as the alleged attacker. For some reason, the guy was still hanging out in the venue and still had the weapon on him when police arrived. He was subsequently taken into custody.
According to county records, Guerrero was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center just before noon the following day, with a county judge setting his bond at $100,000. Guerrero ultimately met the bond requirement and was released roughly eight hours later.
Court records show that Guerrero’s next appearance before a judge will be on March 3, 2025.
