Grave Reunion Show Set for 2025 in Stockholm, Sweden

0

Grave has been busy lately. They’re somehow the only people who can get anything done in those two months after Halloween when no one does shit. The Swedish death metallers haven’t really been active since they last worked on new music back in 2015, and after canceling all their 2024 dates, but I guess they’re back now. With a lineup with some familiar faces in tow, their first reunion show will happen on April 5, 2025, at Kulturhuset in Stockholm, Sweden.

Of course, the band’s founding frontman Ola Lindgren will be there leading the pack but rounding out the rest will be guitarist and vocalist Jörgen Sandström, who was in the band from 1988 to 1995, bassist Jonas Torndal (1989-1992), and Jensa Paulsson, who was the drummer from 1988 to 2002.

What’s even better about the reunion show is that they’re only going to play tracks from early in their discography—the first three albums, in fact. So, if you loved Into the Grave, You’ll Never See…, and Soulless, the buckle-up buddies.

Lindgren said this on the reunion show announcement:

“Many thanks to all of you who commented on last weeks announcement and who are as excited about this as we are. Lets bring some clarity to what this ‘reunion’ is about. So early this year I was approached by the other 3 original members for a meeting. It resulted in the plan to do a couple of rehearsals for fun to see if we were first of all capable and also of course if we enjoyed jamming again.

“I would say that playing together after all these decades went far beyond anyone’s expectations so we decided to try get some shows booked and here we are. This is initially a plan for festival shows during 2025. At the moment there are no plans to do any touring or recording new material with this lineup but who knows where this might lead us…

“The Grave that imploded last year is not dead and buried, it is simply put on ice. It is definitely not fired from the band and it will be his decision if he wants to be a part of any future Grave endevours when that time comes.”

On top of their reunion, Grave is gonna run through some pretty big European festivals, including Germany’s Party.San Metal Open Air, the Czech Republic’s Brutal Assault, Switzerland’s Metal Storm Over Luzern, and The Netherlands’ Graveland Festival.
