Five Finger Death Punch’s Chris Kael Does Stand-Up Set in Boulder City, Nevada

Apparently, Five Finger Death Punch’s bassist Chris Kael is a funny guy. Not funny weird (probably) but funny haha. Kael did a stand-up comedy set on December 13 at Skinny Bar in Boulder City, Nevada. He shared a clip of it on his Facebook page, which you can see here because for some reason it won’t let me post it here. WTF is the point of technology if it doesn’t work?

Comedy seems to kind of be Kael’s jam. He first took the comedic stage back in July 2022 at Counting Cars host Danny Count’s club Count’s Vamp’d, as part of “Punchlines & Backlines” show. The whole point of the event is to introduce musicians doing stand-up for the first time, along with providing yet another stage for those who already know how to make people rofl (does anyone even stay that shit anymore? I think I may have just aged myself).

Kael enjoyed the fuck out of his first set. At least, enough to get the hell up and try it again. He did an interview with the Everblack podcast not too long after his 2022 debut, where he expressed all his excitement about how it all went, and how he was looking forward to doing it again. And, look at him! He did it, and it seems like it may happen again at some point:

“For sure. I’m really excited about it. I’ve got so many stories from being in this band and living this lifestyle, I’m kind of opening the door— just like I do on Instagram or whatnot. I’m this dude that lucked into this incredibly high-profile bass-playing gig in an incredibly successful hard rock/metal band. And I still feel like I’m the same dude, so I like kind of opening that door and letting people in and seeing how it is for literally getting plucked from obscurity behind a bar in Las Vegas to telling all the stories that I get to tell now from being in this band and touring around the world.”
