Scowl, Zulu, Day by Day, Jivebomb, and Obscured to Play Flatspot World Miami
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: bands on Flatspot Records are absolutely killing it in the hardcore scene right now. From Scowl to Zulu to Speed to Jivebomb to Buggin, they keep signing the best damn bands in hardcore. What’s more is that Flatspot bands have a reputation for being some of the most socially progressive bands in hardcore, especially considering that they were a big part of the movement to boycott the Download Festival over its connections to Israel and the war in Gaza. So, when Flatspot puts on a big showcase of some of their best bands, it’s absolutely worth checking out, even if that means having to venture into the state of Florida.
Flatspot Records announced a big show coming up on February 15 that they’re calling Flatspot World Miami. The show promises to be a hell of a banger with Scowl, Zulu, Day by Day, Jivebomb, and Obscured playing the showcase. Scowl, of course, have been riding high since their 2023 EP Psychic Dance Routine kicked them into the mainstream spotlight. They did recently jump ship from Flatspot to sign to Dead Oceans Records starting with their new single “Special,” but apparently they still have a lot of loyalty to the label that launched their career if they’re still playing shows for them. Zulu have been enjoying almost the same level of popularity since releasing their debut album A New Tomorrow in 2023.
Tickets for Flatspot World Miami are on sale right now. If you’re making the trek down to Florida to the show, make sure to tell Ron DeSantis that Haela Huntress said to go fuck himself.
