Crossfaith’s Hyper Planet Festival to Feature Underoath, Enter Shikari, Wargasm, and More

In the realm of international music festivals, Japan might not necessarily rank high on the destination spots for metalheads. Sure, they’ve got amazing venues like the Budokan and the Tokyo Dome that major artists play all the time, but they aren’t really known for having a Download or Hellfest-esque event. Enter Japanese metalcore band Crossfaith, who just recently announced the creation of a new multi-genre music festival to take place early next year, called Hyper Planet.

Slated to take place on February 2 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, Hyper Planet is slated to feature sets by Crossfaith (naturally), as well as Underoath, Enter Shikari, and Wargasm. And while that’s pretty damn cool, Crossfaith vocalist Kenta Koie said the plan all along was to feature a diverse group of artists from multiple genres, as well.

“From the moment we started Crossfaith, hosting our own festival has always been one of our biggest dreams. With Hyper Planet, a festival we are proud to host, that dream is now coming true.

“This will be a place where artists from around the world, Japanese artists, and people who resonate with music can unite as one. HYPER PLANET breaks the boundaries of traditional rock festivals by featuring music that has shaped us — genres like hip-hop, electronic and more. Here, you’ll experience a world where music knows no borders.

“We are pouring everything into this festival and truly hope the movement we create will reach not only Japan but expand and evolve globally too!”
