If only I could do anything that would bring such bountiful bank deposits! Probably unsurprising to everyone, Metallica has come in on another list for best thing or most stuff sold or whatever. Pollstar just released their rankings for Top Touring Artists domestically and internationally, and the top 10s came out pretty interesting. Metallica placed at No. 9 on their Top 10 Worldwide Top Touring Artists list for 2024, beating out resident weirdo Madonna at No. 10. The artists higher on the list are probably exactly who you’d expect them to be.

Metallica pulled in mucho de moola with the 24 shows they did over the year, making $179.3 million—which works out to roughly $119.64 a ticket and 62,512 attendees per show. Even those are the averages, they’re pretty wowza averages if you ask me.

The band did not, however, make the top 10 on the North American version of the chart. I’m not sure where they placed on it actually, if they did, but you know who’s sitting pretty in the number one slot? The Rolling freakin Stones. Those sonsabitches never quit, gaining roughly $235 million from playing only eight shows. YES, EIGHT. That breaks down to an average ticket price of $277.28 and an average number of attendees per show of 47,100.
