This British band can be best described as Industrial Black Metal/Dark Ambient, which means it’s moody as fuck and dark as fuck. If you’re looking for something a little more experimental, definitely check this one out.
Electric Wizard
Black Magic Rituals and Perversions Vol. 1 (Spinefarm)
Yes, there are boobies on the cover, but snap out of it — there’s doom metal to enjoy! This is a double live album from one of the greatest bands to ever play it low and slow. As expected, this one features features classic songs like “Dopethrone,” “Witchcult Today,” and “Funeralopolis,” so it’s sure to be a crowd pleaser.
In We Fall
Inner Self (Eclipse Records)
I’m gonna be completely honest. I added these guys because they’re Portuguese and I gotta stick with my own. Melding alternative metal, prog metal, and grunge, In We Fall has an interesting style that sounds equally new and familiar.

The Ever-Crushing Weight Of Stagnance (Transcending Obscurity Records)
Great googly moogly, this is some extremely technical death metal, man. Hailing from the Windy City, this band’s got an insanely dissonant sound that’s just amplified by its wicked guitar, unrelenting rhythm section, and Kevin Kovalsky’s gutteral vocals.
Mörk Gryning
Fasornas Tid (Season of Mist)i
Having been around for more than three decades, Mörk Gryning takes Swedish black metal back to the 90s. This new album Fasornas Tid features 12 new apocalyptic songs to really create an atmosphere that should be instantly familiar with any long-term black metal fan.
