Metal Hall of Fame to Induct Dimebag Darrell, Alissa White-Gluz, Burton C. Bell, and More
Everyone knows about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (and how shitty they are to metal), but how many of you already knew there’s a Metal Hall of Fame out there? Not only that, but were you aware they induct people to the hall every year? Well, that’s absolutely the case and earlier this week, organizers announced this year’s class of inductees and there are certainly a long line of luminaries in their picks.
With the annual induction ceremony and charity gala set to take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Grand Theater in Anaheim, California, the following metal musicians and organizations will join the likes of Sebastian Bach, Biohazard, Uriah Heep, and Metal Blade Records:
- “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott (PANTERA)
- Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY)
- Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein (MISFITS)
- Rikki Rockett (POISON)
- KNAC
- Burton C. Bell (FEAR FACTORY)
- DANGEROUS TOYS
- Jeff Young (MEGADETH, KINGS OF THRASH)
Looking at that list of inductees for this year, it’s almost galling that it took this long for the likes of “Dimebag” Darrell to make the cut. I don’t know why it took so long, but at least that error’s being rectified this year.
In addition to the inductions, the ceremony will include live performances by Young, Kill Devil Hill, and a special “all-star jam at the end of the event,” which I imagine will include some or all of the inductees from this year.
Tickets for the event are on sale for $45 in advance and $55 at the door. All proceeds go toward bringing free music programs to children in need.
