Caliban Tap Mental Cruelty for New Single “Guilt Trip”
For the third time this year, German metalcore outfit Caliban have released a new single titled “Guilt Trip” and this time, it’s a collaboration with Mental Cruelty.
The new song, which you can check out below, comes about two months after the release of their previous single “Echoes” and roughly five months after they dropped “I Was a Happy Kid Once”. That second song also served as the band’s introduction of their newest member, Iain Duncan.
From the moment you hit play on the track, it’s just hard and fast. Does it at times sound very familiar? Yes but I’d argue that that’s just metalcore, man. Still, the band said they were stoked about sharing their latest effort.
“‘Guilt Trip’ is about breaking free from the weight others put on you. It’s a battle cry for anyone who’s had to fight their way out of someone else’s darkness. It’s a raw, aggressive release of years of pain, facing down the demons of blame and regret. This track captures the struggle to overcome that poison in your veins, the chains that keep you trapped, and finally reclaiming your power.”
At this time, there’s no information about whether this single will land on a new album. Hell, we don’t even know if a new album’s in the works. All we can do now at this point is just wait out the informationd.
