Rikki Rockett’s Poison Drums Have Been Stolen
Rikki Rockett, founding drummer of Poison, lowkey got got. Last week, news broke that he had quite a few of the drum kits he used while touring with the band stolen from Donn’s Drum Vault in Burien, Washington. Who the hell managed to pull that off?
Donn’s Drum Vault is pretty much exactly what it sounds like—a huge ass warehouse full of vintage and rare drums, said to be the largest in the world. Vault owner Donn Bennett posted about the theft in the Drummers Of The Pacific Northwest Facebook group. He posted pics of four drum kits, along with this message:
“Stolen Drums!! Several drum sets from the collection of Rikki Rockett from POISON were stolen from our warehouse in Burien WA. They are all extremely unique and easily identified. Please let me know if you see them anywhere.”
Apparently one of the kits nabbed was a DW green-and-gray flamed set recently used on their 2022 tour. All Rockett could say was “I’m floored,” which he wrote along with sharing Bennett’s post on his own Facebook page.
Hopefully he can get at least a couple of his kits back. It’s like, what are you gonna do with them, drum master of thievery? Thankfully Rockett’s got kits out the wooza to get him by with his new band Rockett Mafia. He just started (or let everyone know that he started) it back in September. Rounding out his mafia is vocalist and guitarist Brandon Gibbs (Devil City Angels, Bulletboys’ Mick Sweda on guitar and backup vocals, and bassist Bryan Kimes. Rockett will very obviously be at his throne.
