Tool Announce Daily Lineups for Live in the Sand Festival
Tool‘s destination extravaganza “Tool: Live in the Sand” is stacked with heft to make the island vacation just as heavy as it will be enjoyable. We already knew who was playing, but now we know when they’re playing, thanks to Tool releasing the daily lineups for the fest. You can check them out below.
The festival, in partnership with destination fest company Festication (I’m embarrassed to admit that whenever I saw their name I thought of defication, only to finally now realize it’s a portmanteau of “festival” and “destination.” Epic face palm.), will take place from March 7th to 9th, 2025 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic as part of their Latin American tour.
Tool will very obviously headline two of the days, with Mastodon headlining the last day. The three day festival will also feature interactive art exhibitions from Alex and Allyson Grey, whose art has a long history with Tool.
The daily lineups will be:
Friday, March 7:
Tool
Coheed And Cambria
King’s X
Saturday, March 8:
Tool
Primus (feat. Danny Carey on drums)
Fishbone
Moon Walker
Sunday, March 9:
Mastodon
Eagles Of Death Metal
CKY
Wheel
Speaking of the planned festival, Tool’s Justin Chancellor excitedly said he and his bandmates were stoked to share the stage with the other bands.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to share the news that Primus, Mastodon and Cohered & Cambria will be joining us for our first-ever Caribbean performance at ‘Tool In The Sand’. 2025 is shaping up nicely. See you all there for what should be an unforgettable weekend of music!”
Tyler Fey, one of the co-founders behind Festication said:
“Feyline is thrilled to curate TOOL’s first-ever destination festival, delivering an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience for their dedicated fans. This event will fuse world-class music with the luxury of the Dominican Republic, creating an immersive rock adventure like no other.” The band’s other co-founder Donnie Estopinal added how “Booking TOOL nearly 30 years later feels like my career has come full circle. It’s incredible to go from that unforgettable night in New Orleans to now curating their first destination festival. This is the kind of experience I’ve always dreamed of bringing to fans — something immersive, intimate, and legendary.”
