Danzig to Announce West Coast US Tour Later This Week
As we once again find ourselves in an age where the announcement of an upcoming announcement is actually news, Danzig announced that he’s announcing a West Coast U.S. tour at some point this week.
In a social media post yesterday, Danzig sort of pre-announced his coming tour for late-March 2025 which will feature support from sludge metal supergroup Down, Norwegian black metal band Abbath, and NYHC legends Cro-Mags. The caption on his Instagram post read:
“DANZIG will do a string of Rare Live Dates on the West Coast with Very Special Guests DOWN, Abbath & Cro-Mags in late March 2025. Cities & Venues TBA this week. Some of the cities DANZIG has not played in many years…Don’t miss it!!”
The new tour pre-announcement comes only a few years after the legendary artist announced his retirement from touring, which pretty much never happened. In 2022 he told Revolver:
“I don’t think I’m going to tour anymore. I’m just going to fly out to a show here or there. I’ll maybe be down to do some one-offs. But I just don’t see myself getting on a tour bus anymore.”
He has done a few tours since then, utterly ignoring his vow to not get on tour busses anymore.
Danzig has played a few isolated West Coast dates over the last few years, but hasn’t had any extensive West Coast touring in a while. He has nothing new to promote, with the artist’s last release being 2020’s disastrously received Danzig Sings Elvis album. But with 12 studio albums under his belt, not to mention Samhain and Misfits songs, there’s bound to be a ton to play.
We’ll give you the full list of dates for this tour once they’re announced.
