Man, what is it with old metal dudes being disgusting excuses for humanity lately?! At least this most recent example of metal musicians being absolute gutter slime resulted in someone getting shitcanned, as Sadus just announced they fired their drummer and co-founding member Jon Allen after photos and videos surfaced online of him being a horrific piece of shit to someone he allegedly cared for.
The aforementioned videos and photos are pretty easy to find online so we won’t be posting them here, but they allegedly show Allen hitting his partner Brandy Mae Collins while she’s hooked up to a dialysis machine. Repeat: she wasn’t even able to defend herself.
Allen’s ousting from the band was announced via social media in a tersely worded statement from vocalist and guitarist Darren Travis.
“Upon recent allegations of misconduct.. SADUS will be parting ways with Jon Allen.. I do not condone any type of malicious behavior towards any person.”
Given the severity of the allegations and the simply disgusting displays that have been making the rounds online, that’s a pretty tame statement. Still, it says a lot that a band would fire their drummer and co-founding member while still actively touring Europe as the supporting act for Obituary.
But that’s not even the only fucked up part about what was posted. In the videos, you can see and hear Collins’ son screaming for Allen to stop hitting his mother. Could you imagine that shit?! Apparently in one video Allen admits to being intoxicated while he continues hurting Collins.
All of the footage and proof was posted by Anubis bassist and vocalist Devin Reiche, who’s friends with Collins. When he posted the video, he did so with the following statement about what he was sharing:
“CONTENT WARNING: Extremely detailed video footage of woman hooked up to dialysis being beaten as her elementary school-aged son watches in horror.
“So, you know whose music I love??? SADUS. They’re like, one of my favorite bands from that late ’80s/early ’90s period where thrash metal was gradually evolving into technical death metal.
“THAT SAID, here’s some footage of their drummer Jon Allen beating the absolute living fuck out of my friend Brandy while she was hooked up to a dialysis machine (as her elementary school-aged son watches and tries to intervene). She ended up hospitalized some days later after she started urinating blood, and it turned out that he had dislodged her catheter into her ovaries, and from what I understand she almost died as a result. Any questions you may or may not have, I’m sure she’d be willing to answer.”
Getting fired by his band should be the very bare minimum punishment for Allen. If anything, criminal charges should be brought on him for doing what he allegedly did. No one should suffer that kind of abuse at the hands of someone you’re supposed to be in a relationship with.
