Paula and Dave Lombardo’s Venamoris Rings in the Holidays with Single “Winter’s Whispers”

Thanksgiving’s behind us, so that means the rat race of getting prepared for the year’s end is in full swing. While you’re most likely stuck with Mariah Carey firmly planted in your head thanks to all the shopping going on, the duo of Paula and Dave Lombardo are back as their musical project Venamoris with a little holiday spirit in the form of a standalone single titled “Winter’s Whispers.”

Released earlier this week under Ipecac Recordings, the single is described by the pair as their entry into the world of tunes dedicated to the holiday season.

“‘Winter’s Whispers’ is a nod to our wavering, romantic love of the many vibes of the season.”

Like their other releases (and their impending sophomore album set for release next year), the music’s got a dark, sultry overtone floating just above the surface. It honestly sounds incredibly cinematic to my ears, like I should be watching a scene where the bad guy gets to enjoy the fruits of their labor at the halfway point of some crime flick set around the holidays.
