Former Killswitch Engage Bandmates Adam D and Howard Jones Reveal Their New Band Name
It’s been a known quantity for about two years now, but the name for the ongoing project between current and founding Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and the band’s former vocalist Howard Jones has been revealed. In a social media post earlier this week, the duo announced that their project was now known as Burn Eternal — and not only that, but their debut record is already mixed.
While it will likely still be a while before it can be released, that’s some exciting news to know we might get to finally hear what these two have been working on sometime next year! Jones handled the announcement with the following statement:
“Thai food lunch date! It’s been a busy year for us, but we finally have our album mixed. Our schedules have caused this to take longer than expected, thanks for bearing with us. Back to work. We are Burn Eternal. See you soon.”
Even though Jones and Killswitch Engage separated from one another back in 2012, things have been looking on the up between both parties in recent years. There have been multiple occasions where Jones has hopped up on stage with the band to perform some of the songs he originally sang on. Hell, he even offered up a vocal guest spot on the band’s 2019 album Atonement.
It’s great to see two former bandmates hanging out and making new music together. All too often you see bridges getting nuked from orbit and shit just being petty for years and years on end, so this is a refreshing change of pace. Here’s hoping we get to hear what’s coming sooner rather than later!
