Atreyu Announce The Curse 20th Anniversary Australian Tour for 2025

0

California metalcore favorites Atreyu celebrated the 20th anniversary of their popular sophomore album The Curse in 2024, and commemorated the anniversary this past October with a full-album performance at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California. As a number of people pointed out, it’s a little weird to do a 20th anniversary show for that album when the vocalist who sang on the album, Alex Varkatzas, hasn’t been involved with the band since 2020, pushing drummer Brandon Saller into lead vocal duties. Apparently, the absence of Varkatzas isn’t stopping them from their celebration, and the band is now taking the 20th anniversary celebration down under with an Australian tour.

The band made the announcement of the Australian tour with Memphis May Fire yesterday on social media, writing:

“THE CURSE COMES TO AUSTRALIA!

“We will be returning to our beloved Australia in July 2025 with our friends [Memphis May Fire]. Join us as we celebrate our landmark album. We will playing The Curse in full along side more fan favorites throughout our catalog.”

Technically, since the Australian tour will be taking place in summer of 2025, it will really be the 21st anniversary of The Curse, but who’s counting? The band already has a few other dates lined up for 2025 including the Shiprocked Cruise and a Latin American tour, but there’s no reports of them playing The Curse in full on any of those dates.
