Time to Break Out “Invisible Kid” at the Bar, Metallica is TouchTunes’ Jukebox Day Reps
Have you ever felt the joy of committing sonic terrorism in a local bar or restaurant? If you heven’t bombarded an establishment with “The Boys Are Back in Town” or killed the vibes by playing Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” during the dinner rush, have you truly lived? Well, friends, now’s your chance to weaponize the likes of St. Anger and Lulu, because TouchTunes has selected Metallica as their ambassadors for National Jukebox Day.
For the uninitiated, TouchTunes is an app/jukebox service that a lot of places use so people can buy tokens so they can play music that the whole establishment can hear. It’s just a digital jukebox, really.
From now until December 8, TouchTunes users can get a chance to win a special VIP experience at Metallica’s Philly stop during their M72 world tour by playing any Metallica song on a TouchTune jukebox. You’re limited to 250 entries per user, which honestly is way too much time and money to spend doing this sort of thing, but you can get a chance to meet the band by blasting “Invisible Kid” over and over again for a hapless crowd.
According to TouchTunes, the prizes are as follows:
- Grand Prize: Two (2) VIP tickets to METALLICA’s “M72” world tour in Philadelphia (on May 23 and May 25),an exclusive meet-and-greet experience, a METALLICA merch prize pack, a $1,000 gift card for travel expenses, and a three-night hotel stay.
- Second Place Prize: One (1) $500 Visa gift card.
- Third Place Prize: Ten (10) TouchTunes mobile app credit bundles of one hundred (100) credits each.
