Converge Added to Fire In The Mountains Festival

Ever since its announcement earlier this year, the Fire In The Mountains Festival has consistently upped its game by adding bigger, more interesting, and exciting bands to their growing lineup. And it seems like that’s not stopping quite yet, as organizers announced that Converge will be joining the already beefy bill.

Announced in conjunction with a newly announced curation effort with a non-profit organization known as the Firekeeper Alliance, Converge’s addition apparently fit exactly with that group’s mission statement, according to Firekeeper Alliance Director Charlie Speicher.

“The Firekeeper Alliance exists to support Indigenous communities in creating as much protection from suicide as possible. This specially curated set at Fire in The Mountains is extremely meaningful to us, and we’ve selected one of the most revered heavy bands of all time to perform in the Blackfeet Nation for the first time ever.

“To us, Converge is the band that embodies the Firekeeper Alliance ethos perfectly. The sheer power of both their message and their live performance has helped us understand that we can transmute our pain into something positive.

“In Indian Country, it’s easy to feel hopelessness in the face of the amount of loss experienced. Converge has taught us that in spite of our pain, we can find hope, so long as we ‘keep breathing, keep living, keep searching’… This curation is for the hearts still beating.”

It should be noted that the festival is taking place at the Red Eagle Campground in Glacier, Montana in partnership with the Blackfeet Nation. Taking place from July 25 to 27 next year, the festival is centered around community, music, and the natural world. Given the fact that the festival is so intimately intertwined with the indigenous population, it’s got the unique chance of being something more than just an open-air metal festival.

It’s also important to note that since the festival is taking place on Blackfeet Nation land, the festival is a completely dry event. That means no booze, drugs, or any other intoxicants.

Speaking of their addition to the festival, Converge said they were stoked to participate.

“We cannot begin to explain our gratitude to Firekeeper Alliance for the invitation to participate in Fire In The Mountains 2025. This is so much more than a music festival and the importance of that is not lost on us. The great honor and privilege of playing our music in the Blackfeet Nation and tdhe joy and catharsis that comes with it is something for which we will be forever thankful. ”

In addition to Converge, the full lineup so far is as follows:

  • WARDRUNA
  • OLD MAN’S CHILD (First U.S. Exclusive)
