Obscura’s New Album A Sonication Coming This February, Single “Silver Linings” Out Now

German technical death metal outfit Obscura are looking to start 2025 off with a bang, as they announced that their seventh full-length album A Sonication will be released on February 7, 2025 via Nuclear Blast.

A Sonication is the band’s followup to 2021’s A Valediction, their second album under Nuclear Blast’s umbrella, and the middle release in an ongoing trilogy of concept albums. To celebrate the announcement, the band released the first single off their upcoming album titled “Silver Linings”. Despite the cheery name, the song doesn’t play around. From the moment you hit play, it comes out guns blazing, ready to kick your ass.

Frontman Steffen Kummerer had the following to say about the band’s announcement:

“With ‘Silver Linings’ we present you the first track of our brand new album A Sonication, which sees the light of day in early 2025. Supporting the new record, Obscura will embark on the first leg of a world tour in February next year. Lend your ear to the music, and see you at a venue near you!“
