Imperial Triumphant Announce New Album Goldstar, Release New Single “Hotel Sphinx”
Avant-garde black metal trio Imperial Triumphant are looking to make 2025 their year, as they announced earlier today that they’ll be releasing their sixth full-length album Goldstar sometime next year. Set for release via Century Media Records, there’s not much information about the new album excpet for the fact that it will feature the newly released single “Hotel Sphinx”.
The song itself is pretty good, but the video — directed by the band’s own Steve Blanco — is something else entirely. There’s just something fun and oddly disturbing about watching toy versions of the band shred through the song. It’s just… weird.
Speaking of the track, the band cryptically explained what it was all about:
“The ‘Entertainer extraordinaire’ leads a gullible audience through the sinister halls of the ‘Hotel Sphinx’. Behind the lights, cameras, and endless action lies a disturbing undercurrent—where power is fed by the innocence of youth. The lines between entertainment, initiation, and exploitation blur as a conspiracy of silence reigns in the ‘Illuminated Valley of the Kings’, where political celebrity celebrates death. Rites of passage too dark to speak, promising false salvation in a world where the show never ends.”
So yeah. New Imperial Triumphant. Coming next year. Stream the new song and watch the video whenever you can.
