Sh*t That Comes Out Today: November 8, 2024
Man, this week has sure felt like a decade, eh? I’m just ready to put it in the books and move on to the weekend. And considering how it’s practically summer in November here in the Eastern U.S., I might as well blast some new metal while driving somewhere fun. You should do the same.
Counterparts
Heaven Let Them Die (Counterparts Music Inc.)
Okay, this is cheating a little bit since it came out yesterday, but I can’t say enough about how fucking heavy Counterparts’ latest EP Heaven Let Them Die really is. This has been a revelation around the MetalSucks Mansion, so definitely check this one out. It’s no joke.
Delain
Dance With The Devil (Napalm Records)
We’ve got another EP for you with Delain’s latest. This Dutch synth-metal band may have had a little drama a few years ago when most of the band suddenly quit, but they’ve since moved on and this latest release shows that the band will forge forward as long as founding member, keyboardist, and main songwriter Martijn Westerholt is around.
Make Them Suffer
Make Them Suffer (Greyscale Records)
When it comes to modern metal and metalcore, Australia’s exported a lot of killer bands over the years. Make Them Suffer is one of those bands and their latest album is a self-titled effort that looks to take shots at a lot of what ails our extremely connected world.
Molder
Catastrophic Reconfiguration (Prosthetic Records)
The best way I can describe the new work released by Illinois-based death metal band Molder is that it’s “disgustingly brutal.” Described by bvocalist Aaren Pantke as a great entry point to Molder’s discography, this one’s just 10 tracks that just want to kick your teeth in from the jump.
Sol Invicto
Loosely Aware (Omyac Records)
And now for the final EP of the week, we’ve got Sol Invicto’s Loosely Aware. This supergroup featuring Richie Londres, Stephen Carpenter (Deftones), and Eric Bobo (Cypress Hill) has been a bit of an anomaly among fans, having only previously released a super rare private double album back in 2017. Still, this new EP represents the band’s first official release, so that’s something to get stoked about.
