Delain Release New Track “The Reaping” Ahead of EP Release

0

Synth-metal may sound like some weird sci-fi material used to make spaceships or something, but that’s actually the genre that Dutch band Delain plays. That might already be common knowledge, but I figured it was worth saying since their new single “The Reaping” is filled with ethereal synths alongside the modern metal sound.

The single comes just days before the release of Delain’s new EP Dance With The Devil this Friday, November 8 via Napalm Records. The band’s founding member, keyboardist, and main songwriter Martijn Westerholt said the song dealt with the sense of foreboding and sorrow, while also touching a little bit on other things like disillusionment with how society’s going.

“‘The Reaping’ is a very expressive song with a serious subject – where the world/society is heading and metaphorical storms on the horizon. Musically the song can be recognized as a typical DELAIN song filled with heavy guitars, but also with the very recognizable 80’s synth elements DELAIN is known for.”

You can check out the single and music video below. We also have some live dates outlined below, including their U.K. and Ireland trek later this month.

Additionally, you can preorder your copy of Dance With The Devil today.
