Deftones Release Second Beer This Week, But This One is Non-Alcoholic

Okay, at this point, Deftones are maybe going overboard with the whole beer thing. The beloved and long-running California alt-metal/shoegaze act Deftones have put out about a dozen different beers in partnership with the grossly named Belching Beaver Brewing, the most recent of which they just announced on Monday. Now they’ve launched literally their second beer in a week, having just unveiled a new non-alcoholic beer yesterday called Tone Zero.

Unlike their other beers, Tone Zero sees Deftones partnering, not with the Belching Beaver company, but rather with a non-alcoholic beer company called DrinkSip. Deftones said in their announcement about the new beer on Instagram:

“Introducing Tone Zero, our new non-alcoholic beer in partnership with [DrinkSip]. Whether you’re taking a break from alcohol or choosing to abstain completely, we invite you to raise your glass. Available now at the link in our bio and at [Dia De Los Deftones] this weekend.”

Then on DrinkSip’s website, they described the beer:

“Introducing our epic non-alcoholic lager, a seamless blend of DrinkSip’s essence and Deftones’ spirit. Crafted with unwavering precision and boundless creativity, it embodies fundamental principles while inviting your taste buds into new territories.

“Immerse yourself in the crispness of a classic lager, where innovation and artistry intertwine in every sip, subtly enhanced by rice water for depth. From DrinkSip and Deftones emerges a near beer inviting you to raise your glass, whether you’re taking a break from alcohol or choosing to abstain completely. Cheers to transcendence.”

This isn’t DrinkSip’s first collaboration with a rock band, as they also carry 311’s non-alcoholic beer the Stealing Hoppy Hours Hazy IPA, which is weird because, if ever there was a band whose music is not improved by the listener being sober, it’s 311.

Tone Zero is available from both Deftones’ store and the DrinkSip website.
