Alien Weaponry Documentary to Get Nationwide Theatrical Release in New Zealand

Months after its screening at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, Alien Weaponry: Kua Tupu Te Ara, the documentary surrounding Alien Weaponry will get a nationwide theatrical release in their home country of New Zealand.

Set to hit theaters on Waitangi Day (February 6), the documentary directed by Kent Belcher and produced by Nigel McCulloch takes a deep look into the band’s upbringing, their rise as an international act, and what lies ahead for the trio. Specifically, the documentary follows the band during its first six years as a cohesive unit. The movie features appearances from some metal luminaries, including Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe, Testament’s Chuck Billy and Gojira’s Joe and Mario Duplantier.

With the film’s theatrical release only a matter of time now, the band said they were excited to share their story with their country.

“We are so excited for Alien Weaponry: Kua Tupu Te Ara to be coming to Aotearoa cinemas and to share this film with all our fans. The film captures our journey navigating the world of music, showing the highlights, the hardships, and everything in between.”

For those that maybe aren’t aware, Alien Weaponry kick all kinds of ass and they set themselves apart from their contemporaries by singing in Te Reo Māori.
